| What is Corn Distiller Grain? | ||
| Corn Distiller Grain
(CDG)
is a by-product of the commercial dry milling process and contains the
remaining nutrients after the corn starch is fermented to alcohol.
Like CGM, CDG represents the protein fraction of the corn,
and after milling its composition typically contains 40-60% protein, 5%
nitrogen (N) and 5% potassium (K). As a plant nutrient, CDG is recognized as a natural 5-0-5 slow-release fertilizer with the same benefit of providing protein to the soil to stimulate and feed the life in the soil. |
